The City of Pleasant Hill is making sure bicyclists have access to many of the tools needed to help ensure their rides are trouble-free by installing a bike repair station at Copper Creek Lake Park, near the Grow-Play-Live bike racks.
“Pleasant Hill is an active community and it is important residents enjoy the use of trails within our City and have access to proper tools when minor bike repairs are needed. Copper Creek Lake Park is the first Pleasant Hill City Park to have a repair station. If the need occurs within other areas of the trail system, additional stations may be installed,” said Rick Courcier Program Manager.
The station is equipped with an air pump and retractable tools. It is not intended to replace the function of bike shops, but rather work in conjunction to provide easily accessible tools on your ride for quick fixes such as a flat tire or a seat adjustment. In addition to the usual tools and air, the station also comes equipped with a QR code for smartphone users, which links to videos about basic bike repairs.
The station is manufactured by Sportworks Northwest, Inc. Sportworks is a company that designs, manufactures and distributes, commercial bike products to promote bicycle use in urban environments. Click here for more information about Sportworks.
