Increased Traffic Enforcement During Iowa State Fair

Pleasant Hill Police Officers will increase traffic enforcement during the Iowa State Fair, August 10-20, 2017. To keep yourself safe, please take the time to buckle up, slow down, and drive defensively in your travels.

The area of increased enforcement will be on Vandalia Road, Oakwood Drive, Fairview Drive, Parkridge Avenue, and University Avenue in Pleasant Hill, as these are heavy traffic areas during the fair. While driving, it is important to avoid distracted driving. With the recent state legislation texting and driving bill (Senate File 234), drivers can now be issued a citation if caught using a cellular device while driving.

To ensure the safety of you and others on Iowa roads, please remember to buckle up, slow down, and don’t drive distracted or impaired.
