Planning & Zoning Commission

Overview

The Planning and Zoning Commission regulates the use and development of land by issuing permits for new construction and by adopting and enforcing zoning regulations. Members shall be residents of the city and qualified by knowledge or experience to act in matters pertaining to the development of a city plan. 


The primary duties of the commission are to:

  • Review applications and make decisions on new commercial and residential developments such as subdivisions, retail, and office complexes.
  • Review and provide comments on street and park improvements.
  • Develop the City's long-term plan for development.

Meetings

The Planning & Zoning Commission meets on the 1st Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 5160 Maple Drive in Pleasant Hill. See the P&Z Commission schedule here.
