The Pleasant Hill Public Library and Pleasant Hill Parks and Recreation unveiled the newest feature at Copper Creek Lake Park. The park is now home to a story walk around the lake. Each month the book for the story walk will change.
“One goal for the implementation of the story walk is to help diminish the learning loss that can occur during the summer months by promoting reading and literacy,” said John Lerdal, Pleasant Hill Public Library Director. “We are thrilled to partner with the Parks and Recreation Department to also support physical activity and outdoor education and show that you can read anywhere.”
The first book featured at Copper Creek Lake Park is “Worm Weather” by Jean Taft. This project was assisted financially by the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative, The Friends of the Pleasant Hill Public Library, and the Pleasant Hill Lions Club.
